Preface

Southwest China, with its diverse ethnic groups and mysterious geography, is also a blue ocean of artistic inspiration and creativity, with its soil for original art. In the ethnic minority regions of Southwest China, the natural heritage of totem patterns is chic and wonderful. From the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River to the Dazu Rock Carvings, from the broccoli kapu of the Tujia to the textile summer cloth of the Hakka, from the woodcut New Year paintings of Liangping to the peasant prints of Qijiang, from the ancient Ba totems to the relics of the war with the capital, there is a wide range of non-heritage cultural colours that need to be carried forward and transformed.

In order to better explore the rich and splendid ethnic culture, traditional patterns and artistic paintings of Southwest China, combine them with fashion design and present them through a popular carrier, so as to further promote the profound and colourful regional humanities of Southwest China, the cultural and tourism resources of Chongqing's net-worthy city, promote the transformation of non-heritage and the development of the fashion design industry and original design.

1、Entry objects :

1) Professional clothing designers, textile fabric companies, clothing design agencies, fashion illustration design agencies worldwide.

2. Work requirements.

(1) Entries should fully demonstrate the theme of the competition, "Southwest China, Art Chongqing", with patterns and motifs as the basis, and participants can design or create from fabrics, clothing and textiles. fabric patterns, and fashion illustrations. The competition emphasises the in-depth development of unique regional cultural themes and non-traditional pattern content in the southwest, and the originality, fashionability and comprehensiveness of pattern design.

(2) Entries must be original to the author and must not infringe on the copyright and other related rights of others. Including that the work has not been previously submitted for other awards and won, has not been submitted for bidding and won, and has not been used for commercial projects or commissioned designs.

(3) Entries must be submitted via the competition website http://cqwy.eeff.net, uploaded electronically, and the entry form must be printed online and sent by courier to the competition organising committee (see address at the end) together with the paper copy. Specific entry requirements are as follows.

a, the main design of the work is 42cm*29.7cm (A3 banner), the image size should reach 300dpi printing resolution standard, and the source file should be retained by the author, JPG or PNG format file, including not limited to the design description, pattern design draft, pattern application effect diagram or physical photos, the number is not limited.

b. A design statement or explanation of the theme in 100 words or more.

c. All entries will not be returned once submitted, and the Organising Committee reserves the right to reserve or disqualify any entries that do not meet the submission requirements.

d. All winning entries (renderings) will be collected by the Organising Committee and the Organiser has the right to publicise and display all entries.

The final right of interpretation of this competition belongs to the organising committee of the 2021 bene Southwest Textile Pattern Original Design Competition.

2）Selection Process

Preliminary judging: The top 30 selected finalists will receive a $200 painting allowance and a certificate of original copyright.

Re-evaluation: Static display of the top 20 selected by re-evaluation, re-evaluation and selection of the corresponding awards.
