The Third ChinaInternational Fashion Accessories Design Competition
Notice to Contestants

I. Competition profile 
China International Fashion Accessories Design Competition is jointly sponsored by China Fashion Association and Xiamen C&D Starlight Fashion & Cultural Creativity Co., Ltd. Two sessions have been successfully held so far and aroused extensive attention in the fashion sector. The contestants came from 10 countries and regions, including China, the USA, Japan, Italy and Israel. Domestic and international significantexperts were invited as judges of the tryout and final. Other than ensuring the openness, transparency, flexibility and innovation of the competition system, the Organizing Committee has also organized a series of shows, exhibitions, masters face to face design salon and brand matching events. Cherishing the concept of "being the business partner of designers", the competition has introduced a mechanism for matching with industrial resources and business incubation and to effectively integrate upstream and downstream supply chain resources in order to help the shortlisted designers to commercialize their original design works and realize the commercial value of their original designs.

III. Target contestants 
All domestic and overseas accessory designers, accessory and fashion teachers and students and design lovers aged 18 and above are welcome to contribute their works. 

IV. Competition system 
1. The competition will comprise tryout and final and include three categories, i.e. bags, footwear and jewelries, wherein jewelries further include necklace, earrings, finger ring and brooch; 
2. Tryout:the contestants need to submit at least 1 set of their best original designs (preferably created in the past year) as required by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee will then organize a professional evaluation and determine the 60 shortlisted contestants, i.e. 20 in the bag category, 20 in the footwear category and 20 in the jewelry category. 
3. Final:the shortlisted contestants will receive a notice and a Design Assignment for the Final of the Third China International Fashion Accessories Design Competition. They are supposed to design and produce the work for the final according to the Design Assignment and the judges will evaluate the final version of design works and determine the award winners of each category. 
4. Judge panel: it will comprise the leading officials of famous domestic and overseas design institutes, famous fashion designers, chief designers of accessory enterprises, accessory designers and representatives of fashion media. 

V. Requirements on the listed design works:
Tryout: 
1. The contributed works shall be original and follow the trend closely with a distinctive sense cultural features of the era; 
2. The contributed works fall into three categories, i.e. bags, footwear and jewelries. Each contributor needs to offer at least 1 sets of works for each category and they may be enrolled for all three categories. 
3. The contributed works shall be serial ones. Each set shall comprise 2 to 4 pieces without any limit on the style and material. However, commercialized design works are preferred. Contributed works must contain effect drawings, model drawings and design specifications. 
4. The design drafts shall include effect drawings, model structure drawings or finished product drawings. 
(1) Effect drawings and model structure drawings shall be produced in A3 (29.5cm*42cm) without any limit on the mode of expression. They can be hand-drawn or computer generated. The name of works shall be indicated where appropriate on the effect drawings and the technical specifications or material descriptions shall also be provided (the model structure drawings shall be separately drafted and bundled together with the effect drawings. They shall not be produced in the form of a drawing album); 
(2) The finished product drawings shall include the front view, side view and back view of the finished product and the drawing size shall be 11.4cm*15.2cm (6") with a resolution of 300dpi. The three drawings shall be mounted in an A3 (29.5cm*42cm) cardboard with a weight not over 150g. The name of works shall be indicated where appropriate on the drawings and the technical specifications or material descriptions shall also be provided; 
(3) Please write the name, ID card number (or passport number), employer, email address and cell phone number on the right of the paper with a pencil or a marker pen for the convenience of contact or registration; 
(4) Please use Shunfeng Express to send the contributions. Do not fold up or reel up the effect drawings; 
(5) The design drafts shall be deemed to be invalid if they don't conform to the foregoing requirements. 

Final: 
1. The shortlisted contestants will receive a Design Assignment for Final which specifies the requirements on the subject, material and other contents of the final competition. The shortlisted contestants need to design and make the works according to the Design Assignment. 
2. For the evaluation, the contestants will attend a field defense with their design drafts and design works. 
3. The contestants need to consider the probability of commercialization of the design works. The stage of designer roadshow will be added for the session and contestants are recommended to formulate a business plan for the subsequent commercialization of the works, including but not limited to target market analysis, product advantages, product pricing and sales strategy.

VII. Awards and opportunity
The competition has 3 categories for which 20 contestants will be shortlisted for the gold, silver and bronze awards in the final. Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee will also package and promote the design works of outstanding designers in an all-around manner, provide opportunities for matching of quality brands and resources and help outstanding designers and design works to have higher commercial value. The details are as follows: 
1. International competition that attracts enormous industrial attention: the Competition was co-sponsored by China Fashion Association. A powerful jury comprising topnotch experts in accessory design will help it to attract greater attention in the industry. All enlisted and award-winning contestants will receive a highly valuable certificate of national competition. 
2. Diversified packaging and promotional modes to promote the commercialization of designers and design works: all listed contestants will be invited to attend Xiamen International Fashion Week and enjoy the opportunity of publicity and exposure with famous brands and designers. During the final competition, the Organizing Committee will also organize a series of events, including joint exhibition of listed designer works, release show, award-giving ceremony, design salon for face-to-face communication with masters, celebrity show of designer works and match meeting with enterprises, with an aim to promote the design works of outstanding designers to the market. 
3. Match quality resources to accelerate the commercialization of original design works: 
(1) A creative mechanism of "enterprise partnership" is adopted for the competition so that the contestants can avail quality industrial resources, present the original design works in a market-oriented way and diversify sales and promotional channels via the platform advantages of the Organizing Committee and famous brands during the competition. 
(2) The Organizing Committee will also launch a long-term development plan of designers and establish a bridge for communication and cooperation between the contestants and the brand owners. Their commercial value will be increased through flexible business and partnership modes, e.g. recommended internship, contracted employment, co-branded design, investment incubation, design copyright purchase, etc.

1 gold award winner, with a prize money of 50,000 Yuan and the certificate 
1 silver award winner, with a prize money of 30,000 Yuan and the certificate

1 winner of award of highest commercial value, with a certificate 
17 excellence award winners, with a certificate 
B. Shoes (20 shortlisted contestants; relevant awards may be reserved according to product quality): 
1 gold award winner, with a prize money of 50,000 Yuan and the certificate

The foregoing awards will be given with an honor certificate issued jointly by China Fashion Association and Xiamen C&D Starlight Fashion & Cultural Creativity Co., Ltd (note: the price moneys are pretax amounts). 

VIII. Notice to contestants 
1. None of the application documents will be returned. All contestants need to keep a draft by themselves. It is obligatory to send the drafts for the tryout before July 26th.
2. The back of drafts must clearly indicate the author name, sex, ID card number (or passport number), email and cell phone number; 
3. Each set of shortlisted works shall have only 1 author. The contributed works will be rejected if they don't satisfy the requirements; 
4. All shortlisted contestants must voluntarily sign an Agreement on Listing for China International Accessory Design Competition. Failure to sign the agreement will be deemed as the contestant's automatic forsaking of the qualification for the final (the agreement does not involve any payment). 
5. The contestants shall separately bear the transportation expenses to and from Xiamen and the sponsors will arrange for and bear the boarding and accommodation expenses of the contestants during the final. 
6. The sponsors have the right to publicize and display all the participating works and the copyright of the works shall be jointly owned by the contestants and the sponsors.
