Competition Introduction and Purpose

The GREEN TONE offers a new world of fashion for people who pursue quality life in China.

We strongly believe in the role of experience and knowledge sharing across people and culture to improve everyone’s life. Aiming at developing sustainable fashion opportunities in China, our team is glad to announce the opening of the Summer 2020 7 days fashion design challenge: “THE GREEN TONE - NO WASTE TO DRESS”.

我们坚信在现今知识文化与实践经验共享的作用下可以更好的去提升每个人的生活。着眼于在中国发展可持续的时尚契机，我们的团队很高兴地宣布2020年夏季时装设计大赛开幕:“绿调-环保穿搭大赛”

This game aims to enhance international and local sustainable fashion best practices. We are committed to the development of the Chinese apparel education, the deployment of the Chinese apparel sustainable industry, and the improvement of the quality of Chinese apparel.

这个大赛开办旨在加强国内外可持续时尚的最好实践。我们致力于中国服装教育的发展，中国服装可持续产业的部署，以及中国服装质量的提升。

The Summer 2020 game “THE GREEN TONE - NO WASTE TO DRESS”, aims to promote creative opportunities around zero-waste fashion design. The participants are invited to design a multi-purpose dress addressing zero-waste fashion design technics made from high-quality fabrics.

2020年夏季绿调环保穿搭设计大赛是为了促进零废弃时装设计的创意机会。我们将邀请参赛者设计一件以高品质的布料为原料，强调零废弃的时装设计工艺的服装。

Zero-waste is a design technique that eliminates textile waste at the design stage. It has been estimated that 15% of textiles intended for clothing ends up on the cutting room floor. Why waste a precious resource?

“零废弃”是指在设计阶段尽可能减少纺织品废弃的一种设计技术。据统计，大概有15%的用于服装的纺织品会被废弃并被丢弃在了裁剪室的地板上。为什么要废弃这么珍贵的资源呢？

Competition Award        

Winer prize

THE GREEN TONE can decide to develop, produce and market the winner prize at the end of the competition (not mandatory).最后的设计作品将可以由绿调服装有限公司决定是否用于开发生产并且销售到市场中去。

1st price: RMB5,000 / 1等奖:1名奖励人民币5000

2nd price: RMB2,000 / 2等奖:1名奖励人民币2000

3rd price: RMB1,500 / 3等奖:1名人民币1500

Competition for Registration

1.Eligibility for Competition比赛申请资格

-Age: less than 26 yrs old participants – fashion designer students or fresh graduated.

-年龄：26周岁以下，服装时尚设计师或者刚毕业的学生设计师

-Valid ID持有效身份证/护照/签证/居留许可

2.Participants Information 个人资料

-Fill personal information 填写个人资料以便联系

3.Education教育程度

-Provide educational experience 提供有关教育程度的资料，以最近的学历顺序列出

4.Work experience 工作经验

-Provide related Work experience提供相关工作经验的资料，以最近的工作顺序列出

5.Personal Design Works Album个人设计作品集

-Design background: submit 3 fashion design concepts created in the past that you like the most.

-设计背景：需要提交3份你曾经设计过的最满意的设计作品

6.Statement文字陈述

-Act for change: how do you, as a designer, want to bring positive impacts in the fashion industry (less than 300 characters)?

-为改变而行动:请你用300字以内来描述一下作为一名设计师，你希望如何为时尚行业带来积极影响？

-Original work: plagiarism is totally forbidden at every steps of the competition process and its application - if found out will be cancelled for the qualification

-原创：确认申请表中提交的所有资料均正确无误并属个人原创

7.Submit递交

-请务必在2020年8月1日晚上11:59之前完成提交申请（按参赛者的当地时间）。

请注意，在截止时间后收到的申请将不获接纳。

必须使用英文或中文填写报名表，其它语言将不获接受。所有递交作品必属申请人本人原创并未曾向公众披露。每个上传之档案均不得超过1MB，格式须为 .jpg 或 .png。

Competition Timeline/Schedule

PHASE 1: Public webinars and Pre-Registration（25th July to 1st August）

第一阶段：公开网上研讨会以及预注册（7月25号到8月1号）

-July 24th, 2020: Public announcement on WeChat / WEIBO / EEFF

-7月24，2020：正式宣布比赛开始在微信/微博以及EEFF网站

-August 2nd, 2020: End-inscription / Start review applications

-8月2号，2020：报名截止，开始审核参赛者信息

-August 5th, 2020: Public announcement of the 10 participants

-8月5号-8月6号，2020：公共宣布10名入围选手。

Webinars – link provided on “NO WASTE TO DRESS” WeChat group:

-Preliminary webinar to introduce Zero waste design concept will be co-host by REDRESS and THE GREEN TONE.

-Webinars host by Fashion Designers Judges (REDRESS Alumni): introduce themselves, their brand and their own perception of Zero waste design.

三场线上研讨会-“穿著不废弃”

-初步介绍零废弃设计概念的网络研讨会将由绿调主办，Redress 环保时尚机构以及时尚博主Susie联合支持。

-网络研讨会，由资深时装设计师(评委)主持: 介绍自己、品牌、关于对零废弃设计的看法。

PHASE 2: 7 days challenge（7th August to 15th August）

第二阶段：7天挑战

10 selected participants will have 7 days to ideate and shape their own intemporal zero-waste fashion design concept including:

-creation board (including creative concept, front, back and details style drawings or pictures)

-pattern

-prototype made from the fabric provided

-5min work intro video.

-10名选中的参加者将有7天时间构思和塑造自己的国际零废弃时装设计概念，包括提供:

-创意板(包括创意概念、正面、背面及细节风格图纸或图片)—

-最后的定稿纸样

-用提供的面料制作原型

-5分钟介绍作品的视频。

-August 7th, 2020: Designers briefing. Get inspiration board from THE GREEN TONE and receive REDRESS’s Zero-waste design methodologies.

-2020年8月7号：设计师简介。从绿调中获取零废弃方案的灵感来源

-August 10th, 2020: Receive 5m fabrics from THE GREEN TONE to create the prototype.

-2020年8月10号：绿调公司会提供5米长的布料供参赛者创造作品

-August 15th, 2020: Deliver your work (design concept, pattern, prototype, video).

-2020年8月15号：提交你的作品包括设计理念，样板，作品以及视频

PHASE 3: Selection（15nd to 29th August）

第三阶段：评选（8月22到29）

-August 22nd, 2020: Pre-selection. The Judges will short-list 3 candidates based on the zero-waste technique used, the style appreciation & scalability.

-2020年8月15号-8月22号：评委会根据大赛零废弃专业技术的主题以及时尚专业角度从10位参赛者中选出3名符合的候选人

-August 22nd, 2020 to August 29th, 2020: Public voting. Susie FULL NAME will release pictures wearing prototypes – the public voting on Social medias accounts for half in the final selection process (WeChat survey)

-2020年8月22号-8月28号：公共投票。举办方届时将发布参赛者最终作品的照片——社交媒体上的公众投票占最终评选过程的一半(微信投票)

-August 29th, 2020: FINAL video. Susie FULL NAME will wear her favorite prototype – her choice accounts for half in the final selection process – and will announce the winners & pre-orders.

-2020年8月29号：最终直播，时尚博主Susie Chic会穿上她最喜欢的参赛作品-她的选择在最后的评选过程中占了一半-并将宣布获胜者和预订情况。

Competition Guidelines

Eligibility for Competition比赛申请资格

-Age: less than 26 yrs old participants – fashion designer students or fresh graduated.

-Group up to 3 people is accepted个人或者最多三人团体能接受。

Outline for Design 设计大纲

"The lines in the collection are clean and contemporary; the garments are made to animate - not freeze - the wearer." Richard Flood.

该系列的线条干净而富有现代感;这种服装可以使穿戴者变得生动灵活而不是僵硬死板的。

made to last: create an intemporal and multi-purpose dress that can be worn in both casual and more formal occasions for every modern woman to "Feel good, Do good, Look good" anytime.

经久耐用:设计一款在休闲和正式场合都适合穿着的国际多功能连衣裙，让每一位现代女性随时都能“有活力，有用处，感觉好”。

Design Requirement设计要求:

The one rule is that there should be no wastage. You will need to carefully plan how you use the piece of textile by arranging your pattern pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. You can also work out the pattern by draping.

在进行比赛的规则就是本着不能废弃的原则。你需要仔细的计划好要如何使用好这个布料才能最大限度的设计出最好的作品。你也可以通过悬垂来画出图案。

The work should be scalable which means design should be able to proceed at a large scale.

这个作品应该是可延展的意味着设计可以被大规模广泛应用的。

Works Requirement 作品要求：

Mood Boards: feeling, conceptualized, psychological.

心情版：发挥自己的一切感官包括感觉，概念，心理去创作。

Inspiration Boards: resources, differentiation, textile characteristics.

灵感版：查看运用的资源，对比化以及纺织品的使用特色。

Final design sketches: front, back, details.

最终设计草图:正面，背面，细节。

-Technics:工艺技术

Zero waste: eliminate fabric waste with zero-waste pattern making technic

零废弃：使用零废弃技术减少布料的废弃去设计衣服

Alternative: possible use of fabric waste if any (eg: accessories, facing,…)

替代性：尽可能使用琐碎的布料去作为辅料到设计的衣服中

Overcome production challenges: sizing, sewing allowance

克服生产的挑战：设计允许生产的合理尺寸以及缝纫

Maintain aesthetic (eg: folding, hiding technics,…)

保持美观（例如：折叠，加工工艺）
