2021 CHINA CUP ¡¤ TECUL

I. Background

Started in 1995, the China Cup International Fashion Design Competition is one of the state-class design competitions with International popularity and impact, which has been selecting a large number of excellent fashion designers to facilitate the development of Chinese garment industry over the years.

 

Promoted by the Shanghai Fashion Industry Development Centre, restarted from 2018, the competition focuses on the group of fresh college graduates. With the aim to advocate young designers to move onto the work track from the learning base, every season, the competition provides the access for the contestants to bring their designs into the market, to let them communicate with global buyers in person on the fashion shows and trading exhibitions for their exploration on the business environment.

 

In the season of 2020, collaborating with Shanghai Division of China Media Group, after successfully co-operating the "Cloud Gala" online event, the competition upgrades onto an up higher level of its digital functional operation by launching the innovation online show cases such as ¡°Smart Interaction¡± and ¡°Cloud Show Release¡±, with digital smart screen and CR(Create Reality) technology to present "real people¡± and ¡° real clothes¡± for ¡°real effects" approaching by VR (virtual reality), creating a real online consumer scenario.

 

Along with the operation of an non-profit incubation program for four years, an online channel for free lectures has been launched. Through this online platform, industry experts have been brought in and to link with fresh graduates from colleges and universities via multi-linkage channels which across the space to share understandings on the logic of the industry development and the pain points of entrepreneurship, to along with the thoughts of the upcoming changes in the industry with the new talents of the "Z" era. The competition is dedicated to create a sustainable fashion industry ecosystem, and brings together all sectors of the community to ensure the young designers chasing their fashion dreams and to make them come true.

III. Instruction 

The ¡°China Cup ¡¤ Tecul¡± Fashion Design Competition for College Graduates is particularly for costume design-majored graduates. With diversified selection processes, professional judges and unique award settings, it provides a brand-new stage for graduating college students to display their graduation designs. 

 

IV. Process

Three stages to complete the competition.

Stage I£ºRegistration

Duration: 1st September - 31st December, 2021

Submission: Log onto zhb.eeff.net to submit the registration form and work (digital version). Printed version is required to be mailed to the Organizing Committee (address attached below).

Notes II: Printed version submission is upon its mail postmark issuing date and area.

POSTAGE ON DELIVERY will not be supported for Individual contestant£¬but Institutions (universities or colleges) who organize the group registration and collective submission.

 

Stage II£ºPreliminary Election

Duration:  30 finalists will be selected and announced on January 2022.

Notes: Finalists are selected by judge panel of the ¡°China Cup ¡¤ Tecul ¡± among all the contestants as TOP 30 and the list will be posted via official WeChat channel of the competition, who will be invited to attend the Final and Award Ceremony in Shanghai.

 

Stage III£ºFinal&Award Ceremony:

Duration: March 2022 (Dates will be announced by the Organizing Committee)

Notes I: The top 30 finalists will be required to finish the garment work by 15th March 2022.

Notes II: The top 30 finalists will be arranged to attend the Shanghai Fashion Week Concurrent Trade Show to exhibit their garment in the SHOWROOM of the ¡°China Cup ¡¤ Tecul ¡±-new-talent for 2 to 3 days to show up for the processional ordinance from all over the world. The Organizing Committee will invite famous global buyers, jury members, design directors of commercial brands companies and fashion buyers to the showroom to vote and on-site scoring for final awards.

 

V.  Award

[I] Prize Settings:

The Golden Award: 1 winner, RMB30,000. 

Awarded the master-program-student-qualification of Istituto Marangoni (required to pass the related evaluation of admission) and scholarship to cover 50% tuition fee sponsored by the organizing committee.  

The Silver Award: 1 winner, RMB20,000.

The Bronze Award: 1 winner, RMB10,000.

The Best Commercial Value Award: 3 winners, RMB5000 per person.

The Best Design Award: 15 winners, Certificate per person.

 

Notes:

Awards are non-repeatable. The bonus awarded upon its highest prize (after deducting the personal income tax).

 

[ii] Benefit for contestant

i.Travel Subsidy

The top 30 finalists will obtain RMB 3,000 per person as a subsidy for attending the ¡°China Cup Tecul¡± final and award ceremony in Shanghai, P.R.China.

 

ii. Other Benefits

i) The Top 100 contestants will be issued each one a special recommendation by the Organizing Committee of the "China Cup ¡¤ Tecul ". Their works and personal portfolio will be included into the database of the China Cup Talents which is widely open to the leading clothing brand enterprises and designer studios.  

ii) Personal Promotion by partnership media will be provided for finalists.

 

[III] Instructor Award

The outstanding Instructor Award is setting particularly for the instructors with outstanding contributions to the competition.

 

[IV]Institution Award

The Organizing Committee of the competition will set up the award for institutions making great efforts on organizing and promoting for the competition. The representative of the awarded institutions will be invited to the final and award ceremony, who will be issued  the certificate of ¡°Outstanding Institutional Organizing Award¡± and with an interview.

VI. Instruction

Contestant Qualification:

Qualified global contestant must be an undergraduate or a graduate with the graduation time of June 2022 issued the Bachelor's (3-4year degree program) or Master¡¯s (or above) degree (based on ID card & student ID card).

 

Submission Requirement:

A complete series of submission works are required minimum 3 complete sets of designs, which can be men's wear, women's wear or mixed category. Each series is limited as one contestant.

 

Submission Digital Version :

i. Fill in the online Registration Form

ii. Upload an digital version of the complete series (precision required: 400dpi/inch File type: JPG/PDF)

 

Submission Printed Version:

i. A complete series of works (minimum 3 sets) (submission illustration paper forming as 297mmx420mm, computer drawing or hand drawing (colorful drawing), the name of the work and the Registration SN shall be marked at the top right of the illustration, which should be as the same number as the Registration SN on the website (zhb.eeff.net) .

ii. To attach the design description and the sample of material or fabric (in 6CM*6CM).

Note: The design description is required in both Chinese and English. All the submissions will not be returned. Please keep the manuscripts copy.

 

Others:

i. The Registration Form is required to be printed separately. Do not stick the form on the back of the illustration.

ii. All information (including personal information) filled in by contestant must be true and valid. Fake or wrong information provided will be known as disqualified registration.

iii. Submission must be original and unpublished works without infringement of intellectual property rights of others. In case of violation, it will be announced to the public through  medias and will be disqualified its registration.

iv. Finalists must attend the rehearsal, award presentation and related promotional activities according to the schedule of Organizing Committee of the competition.

v. All submission design works will not be returned. Please keep your own manuscripts or copies. The right to use the finalists garments during the periods of the competition belongs to the Organizing Committee and the entitled sponsor.

vi. The Organizing Committee has the right to publicize, brand integrate, publish and distribute, perform and organize related activities for all entries, and to use the pictures and images in any form without any royalties.

 

Note:  The Organizing Committee of the ¡°China Cup ¡¤ Tecul ¡± reserves all the rights for the final explanation on the Competition.
